Clear Cricket Guide

Write for us

We welcome pitches that make cricket easier to understand without sanding away its quirks. A useful contribution gives readers one clear idea to carry into the next match they watch.

Ideas that fit

Pitch an explanation of a rule or piece of cricket language, a comparison of formats or equipment, a focused look at a tactical idea, or an account of a tradition's place in the game. We are especially interested in subjects that remain useful beyond one match or news cycle.

Make the pitch specific

Use the Contact page to send a proposed title, the main question your piece will answer, why a general reader might care, and a short note about the examples you plan to use. Tell us what the piece will leave out, too; a narrow, well-shaped subject is often more useful than an attempt to cover everything.

Clear, careful writing

Strong submissions explain specialist terms, distinguish fact from interpretation and avoid claims they cannot support. We do not accept disguised advertising, copied work or pieces that depend on invented credentials or match details. Proposals are sent through the Contact page.
